Monday Mantra for National Poetry Month

Be the beauty you want to see in the world.

beauty surrounds and inundates everything;
our blindness to it is the only true tragedy

Beauty surrounds and inundates all
today my eyes are open to this
today my heart is open to this
now my spirit soars in beauty!

[This came from a reply to a comment on my blog; it seemed appropriate for a mantra and a short poem in its own right. Be well. Experience the beauty that surrounds you. Experience the beauty that is you.]

    While I agree with you . . . April is National Poetry Month for us Joe Poets lorded over by Old Glory. Every day a day of poetry. Every breath a poem. Thank you for dropping in and leaving two cents :-)

  2. And your poem reminds me of this quote:

    “Beauty is truth, truth beauty,” —that is all
    Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. ”
    -John Keats

    Thank you, Nicole. Great to hear from you.
    This quote is never very far from my mind or heart.
    Hope your writing is coming along well.
